Dear Vehicle Owner, You’re Not Being “Difficult” for Asking for Safety

Insurance companies love using phrases like:

“It’s not necessary.”“The system’s just an aid.”“That’s not part of your coverage.”

They’re banking on the fact that you’ll get overwhelmed and just agree — even if something doesn’t sit right.

But guess what?

You’re allowed to ask for proper repairs.

You’re allowed to say, “Show me the documentation.”

You’re allowed to insist your vehicle be repaired the way it was designed — not “good enough” to close a claim.

What You Can Say:

“I’m not trying to be difficult — I just want my car returned to safe, manufacturer-approved condition. I expect systems like emergency braking and blind spot detection to function correctly when I leave the shop.”

And if they still deny it?

“Please put your refusal in writing and confirm that your company accepts liability if the system fails.”

Watch how fast they reconsider.
