Don’t Just Trust It’s “Good to Go” — Ask for the Facts

The repair looks great. The paint matches. The insurance company paid up.But before you drive off, ask the shop one simple question:

“Did this repair require any ADAS calibrations?”

Because if it did — and they didn’t do it — you’re driving with safety features that may not work at all.

Here Are the 4 Questions You Should Be Asking:

  1. What systems were affected during the repair?

  2. Did any ADAS modules or sensors need calibration?

  3. Was the calibration done in-house or by a specialist?

  4. Can I see the documentation that confirms it passed?

If the answers are vague, defensive, or include phrases like:

  • “We just scanned it.”

  • “The light’s not on, so you’re good.”

  • “That system isn’t that important…”

You’re Not Being Difficult. You’re Being Smart.

Shops that know what they’re doing will welcome these questions.Because they’re proud of the fact that they didn’t just make it pretty — they made it safe.

Final Word: If They Can’t Show It, You Can’t Trust It

Your car deserves to leave that shop 100% fixed. Not 90% fixed with a side of “hopefully your lane assist works.”
